It's officially one week to go.... This time next week, we'll be sipping champagne and giggling away with make up, hair & photos...

International arrivals
So we are swiftly on our way to the airport again to collect the troll arriving from Norway...for those of you unaware, that Sven's Norwegian cousin, Frode!
Mom & Mac have been here for just over week or so and they having a blast catching up and spending time in the Berg, Pilansberg and in a few days KZN for the start of the festivities.
From tomorrow it will officially be sinking in when I go on leave and can focus on the days to come. Sven has been keeping a close watch on the weather and apparently Durbs has had rain, short of torrential downpours.... Pray people for some clear skies on the day!

The final countdown
Yay, so exciting this time we are having... A fantastic girls weekend away last weekend with my girls at content house- thanks so much for a fantastic time and loads of fun and laughs...
Sven had a ripper of a bachelors & fun was had by all. Kudos to my dad for making it all the way to the end, even a trip to Movida for the farmer wasn't too much! Good skills dad!
Mom & Mac arrive on Sunday, super excited to see them again and mom is very excited to finally have a wedding for her daughter...
Left with 3 weeks to go and the nerves are starting to kick in...

2 Months to go...
And so it draws nearer, feels like just the other day that Sven proposed. Well as the time draws near, the list of things to do gets bigger, it's the little things that have to be done and ticked off! Never the less all of this is a journey and I am having a ball.
My shopping visits to China mall, weekends spent DIY'ing and endless hours on www.pintrest.com and wedding blogs have been keeping me very busy and making sure that my creative juices have been flowing.
We have had a visit to the shops to try on some suits for Sven and much to my dismay, him and I seem to have very different ideas of what he should wear...Oh well one thing is for sure it better be something that'll withstand the "press it down" on the dance floor...
My next dress fitting is in November, I suspect that www.leighschubert.co.za will no doubt be finished. She is such a talented designer and knows how to work with South African women's bodies and shapes. She also has a fantastic vision of design and has successfully steered me in the right direction to go with my dress design - THANKS LEIGH!
After the Nov trip we are off on an Mozambique Ocean cruise with Greg Ball for his 40th - Oi all you do on those trips is eat and drink...not good for the pre-wedding diet ;-)
So having a little girlie kitchen tea soiree organised by my gals on the 4th December which should be fun... looking forward to seeing all the gals and having a drink or two with you all.
Then off to Durbs to stay at Prince's Grant for a week before the wedding. Cant wait to get down there and get stuck into the process.
Not long now peeps, we'll be sipping cocktails overlooking the ocean, feeling the ocean breeze on our faces and warm air of Durban! BRING IT ON!

Dashing Durban
So I spent the long weekend in August in Durbs to do a bunch of wedding things. Lucky me, I got to spend an awesome weekend with my mate Charlene in her's and new husband Julian's new home! What a great place, a great view (even a distant ocean view) and two really cool additions to their new family - Joe, the big shaggy hound with a heart of gold & Dora, the minature explorer - the cutest little sausage dog on earth! (sorry Toffy)
Charlene played taxi driver and showed me some interesting shops - & I thought JHB had it all...
Saturday morning was spent doing hair & make up trials; Sunday was a decor set up at the venue; and Monday was the first dress fitting with Leigh Schubert.
What a whirlwind and so exciting! Charlene was the perfect bridesmaid that weekend, thanks for your time bud!
I am dying to show Sven the pics - as we all know I battle to keep anything from him, anyways I will hold out because as of today there are only 3 & a bit months to go.... Holy moly...
I am looking forward to seeing all of you that weekend, it is going to be one for the history books!

The DIY begins
So over the past few weekends and those leading up to the wedding I am ticking off the things that needed to be done DIY. Heidi is going to get stuck in with me (when we stop shopping and just do work - he he he) but for now slowly but surely things are coming together.
My next trip to Durban will be in August for a whistle stop and rush around for a hair and make-up trial too. here is a snippet of the DIY I have been doing... I am loving it!

Brrrr its getting cold in JHB
So its been a while since I did an update! Boy oh boy is it getting cold here in Jhb, my hands are freezing actually as I type. Sven and I have been really busy the last couple of weeks since getting back from Durbs. Sven is frantically trying to tie up those illusive property deals and he is getting lots of positive feedback!
On my work front, we have successfully moved our office to the Design Quarter and WOW what a building we have now! Quite a stressfull time for a lot of people but you make do with what you have I guess.
So now we can start focusing on the tasks at hand for the wedding again until we break again for a long weekend in Cape Town with Anna, Peter & baby Alex in June! We cant wait to go to CT again, its been way too long that we were there! I am looking forward to visits to the Biscuit Mill, Franshoek and perhaps sneak in a Lamb burger or 2 at Le Quartier Français.
So until we meet again, keep warm and Happy Days :)

Keeping myself out of mischief!
So I have been trying to keep myself busy and out of mischief with no studying and the cold weather setting in, so yesterday I went to a screen-printing workshop and printed my very own napkin! Lots of work and fine details and a lot of drying time....anyways so here is the finished product, not that i will ever take this up full time but at least I can say I have done it!

Invite Sunday
Shew, what a fun day Sven & I have had today! We have officially completed the invites we have been waiting for a long time for! We are very excited and its all starting to feel very real now! We can't wait to have a great party with you all! Looking forward to getting all your "yes" RSVP's when you get the invite! I'll be sure to keep updating our blog with all sorts of stuff over the next few months! Bye for now xxx

Whistle stop in Durbs
So things are all on track, after rejecting my 1st and 2nd rounds of invite proofs (you all know how fussy I can be) I have finally pushed print and they should be with me tomorrow!
I spent this last weekend in Durbs, especially went up for Charlene's wedding dress fitting, and what a fitting it was in more way than one - Charlene looked AMAZING! I really can't wait to see my very special friend walk down that aisle and Julian's heart skip a beat when he sees her - she will be one of the most amazing brides I am sure I have ever seen!
It was quite a whistle stop, but very successful! We now have a photographer confirmed his name is Bryan Powell, check out his stuff on the links, it is really amazing and all those advertising friends of mine should take note if you ever need a photographer in DBN, he does weddings on the side - he is a commercial photographer by trade.
Another visit to Palm Dune just cemented our decision to have the wedding there - it really is a beautiful venue!
Those who want some info on the accommodation you can call Engela at Palm Dune and she can assist. Each room is ensuite with an aircon (Jenny that'll make you happy) and within walking distance of the reception. Make sure you bring your cozzies - there are 2 pools and a great big ocean over the dune!
So hang on to your seats and visit those post boxes in the next few weeks to get your invites!
